Your library,
on the dashboard

Connect your iPhone to a CarPlay-compatible head unit and Plinth appears automatically. Albums, artists, and songs are browsable right from the wheel, with no streaming connection involved anywhere.

How Plinth in CarPlay works

1

Connect and Plinth appears automatically

No extra pairing step inside the app — plug in or connect wirelessly to a CarPlay-compatible head unit and Plinth shows up alongside your other CarPlay apps.

2

Browse from the wheel

Albums, Artists, and Songs are all browsable using CarPlay's standard list templates, controlled from the head unit's own wheel or touchscreen.

3

Every playback mode works identically

AI DJ, Shuffle, and Research Mode all work the same in the car as they do on your phone, controlled from the Now Playing screen on your dashboard.

Questions about CarPlay

Does Plinth work with CarPlay?+

Yes. Connect your iPhone to a CarPlay-compatible head unit and Plinth appears automatically. You can browse Albums, Artists, and Songs, and all playback modes — including Shuffle and Research Mode — are available via the Now Playing controls on your dashboard.

Does AI DJ work in CarPlay?+

Yes. AI DJ works the same in CarPlay as it does on your phone — turn it on from Now Playing and new suggestions queue automatically while you drive.

Can I use Shelf, the 3D cover flow browser, in CarPlay?+

No. CarPlay's template system doesn't allow custom views, so Shelf is iPhone, iPad, and Mac only — CarPlay browsing uses Apple's standard Albums, Artists, and Songs lists instead.
